Outreach through the Year

Feeding the Multitudes

This event is an interfaith collaboration of all Sea Island churches to provide a hot Thanksgiving meal to residents of Johns & Wadmalaw Island. It is held at St. John’s Church on Maybank Hwy. on the Saturday before Thanksgiving, from Noon to 3:00 p.m.  Holy Spirit Parish provides turkeys and hams. Volunteers are needed that day to provide side dishes, serve, and join the guests for an afternoon of fellowship.  If you are interested in helping with this event, please contact the parish office or email the coordinator at ftm@holyspiritsc.org.

Angel Tree

During the Fall we gather names from local agencies and our religious education program and place tags on the Angel Tree. Parishioners select a tag, purchase the item requested and return the wrapped gift. In early December gifts are sorted and delivered to the appropriate agency.  Volunteers are needed for gift sorting.  If you are interested in being a team member or volunteering, contact Janet Chafe through the office.

Wadmalaw Senior Meals

Our parish supports our Seniors on Wadmalaw Island. Through the Wadmalaw Senior Community Center and our food pantry, we provide canned protein and vegetables to the Center. They prepare and deliver hot meals daily to the homebound on Wadmalaw

Hosting Musical Events

Burning River Brass

As one of the largest venues located on Johns Island, Holy Spirit has supported the Kiawah Island Arts Council, Piccolo Spoleto and local vocal groups by hosting various musical events free of charge.
