Garden Ministry and Arimatheans

Garden Ministry:

This group welcomes anyone who enjoys the glory of gardening, even those unfamiliar with southern plants.  The prime focus is the Chapel, the rectory courtyard garden and the Cemetery (a commercial company takes care of the main complex).  Please contact the ministry leader if interested in joining.

The Arimatheans:

The Arimatheans are a parish ministry which began in 2022.  They care for the Holy Spirit Columbarium and Cemetery grounds, several acres located behind the Parish Life Center, meeting weekly February-December to maintain and renew the horticulture and other structures which enhance this sacred space. Named for Joseph of Arimathea, who offered his tomb for the crucified body of  Christ, the ministry developed from our Catholic commitment to the sanctity of life from birth to natural death.  The work of the Arimatheans includes the Chapel walkway, the Garden of the Unborn, Founders Place, an outdoor Way of the Cross, altar, Chalice fountain, Columbarium  and in-ground burial area.  If you are not familiar with the cemetery, you are welcome to visit this beautiful space.  The pedestrian entrance is adjacent to the Chapel.  Additional volunteers are welcome, and the ministry contact is Marilyn Schnitz.
