We have received notice of a positive COVID-19 test result for our staff member. Monday night, June 13th the staff member developed symptoms and was tested on Tuesday. The staff member did not work on Tuesday and has been self quarantining since. They report that the initial symptoms have subsided and are feeling well (they are still in self quarantine). At this time no one else in the office is exhibiting symptoms; however, we are monitoring the situation. The office will remain closed until July 27th. We are in communication with the Bishop’s Office.

In response to the spike in coronavirus cases, the Charleston County Council approved an emergency ordinance requiring face coverings in public places any time a person is in contact with other people who are not members of their household. On July 3rd at 6:00 a.m., the ordinance went into effect and will expire automatically in 61 days, unless County Council terminates the ordinance at an earlier date. This ordinance applies to the unincorporated areas of Charleston County and all businesses and organizations within that area. Holy Spirit Catholic Church is located in this area.

We have determined that, in the best interest of our faith community, we need to require that everyone wear a face covering while attending Mass or visiting the office and Family Life Center while the County Ordinance is in effect.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Please remember that the dispensation from Sunday attendance is still in effect and we are recording the weekend liturgy so that you may watch it at home. Please click the link below.
