Holy Spirit volunteers have spent numerous days helping Mrs Mary to be able to enjoy the basic accommodations that we all enjoy and take for granted. Mary is living on $6,000.00 per year while raising an adult mentally challenged son.
This homeowner has been without heat and air for 10 years. The roof was leaking and compromising the ceilings. She hasn’t had running water in her house for over one year. She uses buckets to bring water in from an outside faucet to use for bathing, drinking, and cooking. She washes their clothes in a bucket.
In January the Foundation replaced her HVAC system and her roof. The Holy Spirit volunteers have been working to get water restored to her home. They removed the old leaking water heater, replaced two toilets, installed a new tub and tub enclosure, and made numerous repairs to the water and drain lines and repairs to the water damaged floors and walls. A total of 128 volunteer hours. She is applying to Berkeley Electric to replace her water heater.
This is by far the most extensive and costly repair project to date for the Paraclete Foundation.
