This year, the 15th Annual Feeding of the Multitude will be a drive-thru event. Each family will receive the fixings for their Thanksgiving meal (uncooked ingredients to feed a family of four). The drive-through bag pick-up will take place at Haut Gap Middle School, 1861 Bohicket Rd., Johns Island, on Nov. 19, 2022 from 12 to 3 PM.
We prayerfully request that our able neighbors contribute the following:
2 lb. bag of rice
1 (14-18 oz.) jar of turkey gravy
2 (14-16 oz.) cans of green beans
2 (14-16 oz.) cans of yams or sweet potatoes
1 box of Stove Top® stuffing
1 (14-16 oz.) can of cranberry sauce or dressing
1 box of Just-add-water Biscuit Mix
1 pkg of cookies or store-bought cookies (please be aware of expiration dates, they should be beyond Nov. 24)
We greatly appreciate your contribution to the Drive-Thru Feeding of the Multitude. While we are disappointed that we cannot serve cooked meals again this year because of the pandemic, we are thankful that we can provide bags of food for people to cook and enjoy in their homes.
Our parish goal is to fill 200 bags! Grocery lists will be handed out the weekend of Oct. 29-30. Grocery donations are requested back by Sunday, Nov. 13th and may be left in the narthex of the church or in the Family Life Center. Please double bag the groceries and if you are able to purchase for more than one family, help us by keeping each order separate.
Monetary donations are greatly appreciated and may be made payable to Live Oak Church, in the memo field write “Feeding the Multitude” and mail to Live Oak Church, P.O. Box 122, Johns Island, SC 29457. There is also a way to donate electronically through the Live Oak Church website to the Feeding of the Multitude Restricted Fund at https://www.liveoakji.org/partner Once on that webpage, under “How You Can Give”, click the word “HERE” to be directed to their online giving page. After entering a dollar amount, click the down arrow next to “General” to choose “Feeding the Multitude” and finish following the prompts. Donation statements will be issued from Live Oak Church.
