Feeding the Multitude

This year, the 14th Annual Feeding of the Multitude will be a drive-thru event.  Each family will receive the fixings for their Thanksgiving meal (uncooked ingredients to feed a family of four).  The drive-through bag pick-up will take place at St. John’s Parish Church’s Walton Hall, 3673 Maybank Hwy, Johns Island, on Nov. 20, 2021 from 12 to 3 PM.

We prayerfully request that our able neighbors contribute the following:

2 lb. bag of rice

1  (14-18 oz.) jar of turkey gravy

2  (14-16 oz.) cans of green beans

2  (14-16 oz.) cans of yams or sweet potatoes

1 box of Stove Top®  stuffing

1  (14-16 oz.) can of cranberry sauce or dressing

1 box of Just-add-water Biscuit Mix or rolls with expiration date beyond Nov. 25th

1 pkg of cookies (not from the store bakery due to expiration dates)

We greatly appreciate your contribution to the Drive-Thru Feeding of the Multitude.  While we are disappointed that we cannot serve cooked meals this year because of the pandemic, we are thankful that we can provide bags of food for people to cook and enjoy in their homes. We are also giving frozen turkeys with each bag of food and are still delivering meals to shut-ins.

Our parish goal is to fill 175 bags! Empty bags will be available starting Oct. 31st.  Grocery donations are requested back by  Sunday, Nov. 14th and may be left in the narthex of the church or in the Family Life Center. Please double bag the groceries and if you are able to purchase for more than one family, help us by keeping each order separate.

Monetary donations are greatly appreciated and may be made payable to St. John’s Parish Church, in the memo field write “Feeding the Multitude” and mail to St. John’s Parish PO Box 125, Johns Island, SC 29457.
